2007 White Hawk Vineyard Syrah
(Santa Barbara County AVA)

One of the most highly regarded sites in Santa Barbara Co., White Hawk Vineyard’s soil and climate are ideal for the production of world class Syrah grapes. The vineyard is committed to using sustainable and primarily organic viticulture methods. After a long, dry growing season, the 2007 harvest occurred in late-October. Following fermentation with native yeasts, the wine was aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 17 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

The first thing that strikes you about our 2007 White Hawk Vineyard Syrah is its deep red color with a garnet hue. The complexity of this wine reveals itself on the nose with scents of black stone fruits, eucalyptus, white pepper and even cherry cola. Your palate is rewarded with luscious flavors of black cherry, dark caramel and toasted oak with a full-rounded, lingering finish consisting of noticeable, yet smooth tannins. As it is a big and young wine, give it some time to open up over the course of the evening.
